Welcome to the Connaught

Dear Guest,

We are pleased to welcome you to the hotel and thank you for choosing to stay with us.   The Connaught, as with the rest of the country, will be operating differently at the present time as we all get used to our new normal.  Please read through the below information outlining the measures in place to ensure you of a clean, safe and comfortable stay.


Prior to your arrival your room has been cleaned to the highest degree with particular attention to all touch areas so you can rest assured of a clean, safe stay.  During your stay, you may see our housekeeping team in the corridors more than usual, they are there to ensure that the corridors are kept clean and all door hands and lift buttons are regularly disinfected as well as all public areas.   Hand sanitizer is available on each floor of the hotel and around the public areas – please use it whenever passing.


We are currently operating within government guidelines, which means that at the present time the sauna, steam room and gym are closed. Please note from 8th August it is a government requirement to wear a mask when in public areas of the hotel - please wear a mask at all times, except when drinking. dining or using the swimming pool.


Breakfast | Breakfast is available in the restaurant but must be booked in advance - if you have booked room only please book with reception the night before. Once seated in the restaurant the staff will take your order for all items.

Brasserie & Bar | If you would like to drink or dine with us during your stay, please book a table with reception - all food and drink orders will be done by table service - please do not go to the bar to order. If you wish, you can order via WhatsApp on 07934715698.

Room Service | Room service is charged at £3.50 per tray - if you wish to order any food and drink to the rooms please contact reception. Note, your order will be left outside your door for you - please put your tray outside when you are finished for collection.


The swimming pool and jacuzzi are open, in line with government guidelines. This will mean that anyone wishing to use the pool will need to book a one hour time slot in advance with reception - if you would like to use the facilities please call the team on 01202 298020 no earlier than 48hrs prior to your arrival. Note that use of the facilities will be given on a first come first served basis and we would kindly ask that you arrive and leave the facilities on time to allow the maximum number of guests to use the facilities. At the present time all other facilities remain closed.

You can contact us any time during your stay via WhatsApp – please add 07934715698 to your contacts – on our WhatsApp you can request any items you need bringing to your room, to include fresh towels or room service and drinks orders.   We would kindly ask, unless it is absolutely urgent, please refrain from visiting our reception after check in.  Our staff have been provided with masks, face shields and gloves to wear as appropriate, please respect their distance as much as they will also respect yours. Please also respect other guests in terms of social distancing measures.   If you make use of our lounge or gardens during your stay, please be sure to respect social distancing measures. Lifts can be used only with the people sharing a room – please use the stairs wherever possible and be mindful of those who need to use the lift for mobility reasons.


We are no longer proving a full service of the bedrooms unless specifically requested, so if you require your room to be serviced please advise reception the night before and at what time you will be out of the room so that the housekeeper can service it for you.   For your safety and that of our staff you cannot be in the room whilst it is serviced.  If you are staying with us for more than 3 nights we would ask that you advise us when it is appropriate for us to replace your linen.   If you need anything else such as fresh towels, please ask and it will be delivered to you.   The head housekeeper will place your tea/coffee items outside your room on a daily basis.

Please use WhatsApp to order room service. If you are in the garden, one of the team will come to your table to take an order. Please do not go to either of the bars to order or return any glasses etc.
